Four Coasts.
Two Monsoons.

Most people picture one kind of Sri Lankan beach — palm trees, a long golden strip, maybe a surfboard. The reality is a much bigger island than that photo suggests. The south coast is the postcard: lively, developed, reliably calm November to April. The east coast flips the calendar entirely — its best months are exactly when the south gets rough. The west is the practical gateway, minutes from the airport. And the north is something else altogether: flat, wind-scoured, close to empty, with tied islands and baobab trees that feel like nowhere else in the country.

This matters for planning more than people realise. Because the coasts run on opposite seasons, there's always a good beach window open somewhere — we just have to pick the right coast for your dates, not the other way around.

Snorkel, Dive & Reef.

Several of these beaches double as some of the best shore snorkelling in Asia. Hikkaduwa's marine sanctuary has resident sea turtles you can swim beside straight off the sand. Pigeon Island, off Nilaveli, is a full marine national park. Polhena's reef-protected cove keeps things calm enough for total beginners.

Any of these can be a standalone day, or we can build it into a wider Sri Lanka trip. We arrange the transport, the operator, any permits or entry fees, and make sure the timing works — including the unglamorous part of getting there at 5am when something is worth it.

We don't take commissions from operators for sending people their way. We work with the people we'd use ourselves, and we tell you honestly when something isn't worth doing.

A Small Island.
Remarkable Numbers.

Sri Lanka has more leopards per square kilometre than almost anywhere in the world. It's one of the few places you can see blue whales, sperm whales and spinner dolphins on the same morning. The elephant population here behaves differently to anywhere else in Asia — large mixed herds, regular waterhole gatherings, visible year-round.

For photographers specifically, the light, the density of subjects and the relative accessibility of the parks make this a serious destination. You don't need to wait a week for one sighting. With the right park, the right guide and the right timing — you'll fill a card in a morning.

The Full Safari,
Not Just the Jeep.

The difference between a good safari and a frustrating one is almost entirely the guide. We work with naturalists who've spent years in specific parks — who know the individual leopards, know the birds' territories, and know which waterhole is active this week, not last season. We don't send you to whoever has a free jeep.

For serious photographers, we can arrange private jeeps so you control where you go and how long you stay. No group compromise, no moving on before you've got the shot.

Three Points.
2,500 Years.

Sigiriya, Dambulla, Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura form what's known as the Cultural Triangle — the ancient and medieval heartland of Sinhalese civilisation, and arguably the best-preserved showcase of early South Asian culture outside Angkor Wat. A 5th-century rock fortress with water gardens still holding water. A cave monastery painted continuously for 2,000 years. Two former capitals, a thousand years apart, both still standing.

This isn't a museum. Monks still walk the terraces at Anuradhapura's sacred sites. Pilgrims in white still prostrate at the shrines. The ancient and the living sit next to each other without any sense of performance — which is what makes it worth doing properly, not rushed.

Order Matters
More Than You'd Think.

Three to four days covers the four main sites properly, at a comfortable pace with room for Minneriya or a lesser-visited stop like Ritigala or Yapahuwa. Two days is workable if you're tight on time — Sigiriya and Dambulla together on day one, Polonnaruwa on day two. The sites sit close enough together that a private driver-guide makes the whole thing far easier than public transport, and their local knowledge of timing — when Dambulla reopens, which gate to use, where the shade is — is worth more than it sounds.

Sigiriya first thing, always. Whichever order you take Dambulla and Polonnaruwa in, arriving at Sigiriya after 10am means full heat and a queue. We build every Cultural Triangle route around that one rule.

Ayurveda isn't something Sri Lanka borrowed from wellness tourism. It's been practised here for over 3,000 years — the same system of medicine used in the island's royal courts, still taught in accredited universities, still practised by families who've done it for generations. When a proper Ayurvedic physician assesses you here, they're drawing on a diagnostic tradition that predates modern medicine by centuries.

Beyond Ayurveda, the island itself is a wellness asset — cool hill country air, ocean on three coasts, forests that haven't been touched, and a pace of life that genuinely helps people decompress. We'll match you to the right type of experience for what you actually need.

We Match You
to the Right Place.

Generic "wellness retreat" searches produce generic results. What actually matters is whether the physician is qualified, whether the food suits your constitution, whether the environment is genuinely quiet, and whether the programme fits your timeline and goals. We ask the questions that surface the right answer.

Wellness also doesn't have to be the whole trip. A week at an Ayurvedic retreat followed by a few days exploring the south coast is a common combination. Or you could build in a forest stay mid-trip as a reset between more active parts of the itinerary. Tell us how much time you have and we'll propose something realistic.

You've already booked the long-haul flight. You've already arranged the time off work. The wedding is two or three days of your schedule — the rest of that week, or the week either side, is entirely yours. Sri Lanka is one of the most varied travel destinations on earth in a very small footprint. A week before or after a wedding in Galle can give you elephants, surf, a hill country tea train, ancient ruins and one of the best food scenes in Asia.
